Somewhere off the coast
Wendy Rose was raised in the golden glow of 1970s northern California, where her mother cooked like Alice Waters and her father drank like he was prepping for the Judgement of Paris. She grew up in gardens, kitchens, and wine cellars — barefoot, curious, and well-fed.
After two decades navigating boardrooms and balance sheets in the tech industry, she pivoted to something far messier: farming, fermentation, and fiction. Alongside her husband, she co-founded Bella Wines, British Columbia’s first sparkling wine house, and spent over a decade championing organic viticulture and natural wine — often with muddy boots and a glass in hand.
Now, Wendy writes. About food, health, memory, and the slippery space between fact and fiction. She still tends chickens, brews wild teas, and believes most things in life can be healed with broth, breath, or a very good story, while enjoying a glass of bubbles.
She lives somewhere off the coast of British Columbia, with a kayak, a shovel, and no desire to be easily found.
